How To Make Changes In Your Life

Updated: Jul 17, 2021

Making changes in life is the one constant thing every human should do as nothing in life is guaranteed. Change comes mostly because we encounter a crisis which most of the time results in you having to make choices and take a chance. In any situation, we are all faced with having to make a choice – do we make the change or not? And, what happens when you find making change a challenge? Below we outline 5 Simple solutions to help you step in the right direction to the change you are trying to make.

Find Your Purpose

Finding your purpose is never easy and it can take years to truly find what you have been called to do or be. Try spending some time figuring out what is important in your life and why it is important. Ask yourself what is it that you want to achieve in your life? What are your dreams? What makes you happy?Your purpose gives you meaning and helps set the direction of how you want to live your life. Without purpose there’s no meaning, and with both there is no direction, focus, or goals.

If you’re not sure where to begin, take 3-10 minutes daily asking yourself these questions, write your answers down, thereafter speak to a close friend, our life coach who can help rationalise your findings and help you create a structured plan to attain change.

Visualise Your Life

When you have found your purpose it’s now time to dream and visualise what you want to change. See yourself in your new changed state. Look at it daily, spend time every day on this new version of you! When you start believing in your change, you start to believe you can do it. Seeing your change every day brings it to life. Visualising it will act as a daily reminder to refocus your energy and direct your daily actions towards what you really want to achieve.

Set Goals

When you have mastered the ability to visualise yourself in your changed state you know you have to take action and set goals long-term and short-term goals. Setting goals allows you to review your progress which when done well can lead you to achieve your change. Always remember that your goals can lead you to the change you want in your life, but keep in mind to be flexible and make additional changes when needed.

Surround Your With Positive Energy

The people you surround yourself around encourage the behaviours you learn. Review who your close circle of friends are and ask yourself, are you gaining more knowledge? With more knowledge comes more confidence, with more confidence comes more drive, with drive comes the ability to see yourself reach to your highest potential.

We all learn from those around us which helps us to become more adaptable in new situations. Knowledge encourages creativity and innovation in our thinking, and we are, therefore, more comfortable with the unknown of life.

Be Confident

Be confident in your own ability. You were uniquely created and there is only one you! To be the change you want, you have to believe in you, you are the only person who is going to change your life! To create that change, you have to like yourself. Accepting who you are and loving yourself despite any shortcomings as these come to help you to move forward in changing your life and creating the life you love.

Conclusion

Every day we make choices, which are challenged by how we want to live our lives. Any changes you want to make are determined by choices and tend to have a dramatic impact on the life you live. There is no avoiding making choices as it’s a natural part of life. The more you resist making changes, the tougher your life will become. We cannot avoid the unexpected events in life, however, what we can control is how we choose to respond to them. It is our power of choice that enables us to activate positive change in our lives.
