Traditionally, the dominating social role of the woman was as housewife, and that of the man was focused on work and family maintenance, but times have changed and the increase in education has made women independent and no longer dependent on men to lead their lives.

Business laws have changed to allow more women in the workplace and giving them a comfortable environment to work in. Women can now stand tall like men and get equal opportunities in everything.

Women leaders defeat many workplace barriers caused by gender biases and these defeats are enabling transformational role models for society. The challenges faced in their journeys to the top allows younger girls to witness how they developed and fought for themselves to get to the top. This leaves less room for anyone to challenge the need for more women in leadership and thus promotes and empowers other women to reach for the sky and do extraordinary things they would not have normally done otherwise.

Of all Fortune 500 companies, only 8.8% have women CEOs. This indicates that about 91% of Fortune 500 CEOs are male. - Forbes
